To support the continued development of staff, Western Water is seeking a General Manager, People and Culture who will optimise performance; further build a values based culture of excellence and transformational leadership; and drive the delivery of strategic and corporate objectives.

The role

As a key member of the Executive Management Team and reporting to the Managing Director, the GM People and Culture (GM P&C) will provide high-level advice and recommendations on policy and strategy to the Managing Director, the Executive Team, Board and Western Water's stakeholders. With the support of the People and Culture team, the GM P&C will drive a culture of excellence across the organisation that is high performing, inclusive, resilient and aligned to the values and long term strategic objectives of the organisation. Furthermore, the GM P&C will adopt a future focused and strategic lens to lead the design, development and implementation of organisational development, leadership and learning and development strategies; employee relations programs; industrial relations initiatives; talent and performance management initiatives and Health, Safety and Wellbeing goals to optimise capability and performance across Western Water.

This critical role will see you draw on your substantial human resources leadership experience in a broad range of strategic areas in particular organisational development. You're successful influencing and negotiation skills coupled with your analytical problem-solving mind will also be required to see you identify issues, develop solutions and provide authoritative advice across the organisation. Additionally, your experience developing strong and collaborative working relationships across an organisation and your enthusiasm for continuous improvement that focuses on the future of the organisation will be key.

Information Technology Infrastructure Project Manager

Western Water is seeking a highly skilled autonomous, engaging, energetic and driven Project Manager, to undertake a solid pipeline of project work. Expectations will be high, with a challenging program and tight deadlines throughout the duration of the program.

Working closely with the IT Team as well as project delivery teams the Information Technology Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Delivery of several concurrent projects: VPDSS project, capacity planning project, security upgrade project, infrastructure enhancements
  • Co-ordinating project work, organising resources, and facilitating and recording business meetings
  • Managing project budgets including estimating and liaising with the business and vendors
  • Ensure that technology solutions continually add value whilst underpinning our IT Strategy, and Corporate Plan

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in IT
  • Strong Project Management skills (Prince2/PMBoK)
  • Strong skills in business analysis and business case development
  • Exposure to traditional project management disciplines and a proven ability to motivate, excite and build consensus within cross functional teams.
  • The ability to drive change and efficiency across the organisation
  • Extensive experience in cost benefit analysis & benefits realisation
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, architecture & process re-engineering

Information Technology - Integration / ETL Developer

Western Water is seeking a highly skilled autonomous, engaging, and driven Integration / ETL Developer, to undertake a solid program of project work. Expectations will be high, with a challenging program and tight deadlines throughout the duration of the program.

Working closely with the IT Team as well as project delivery teams This role will be responsible for:

  • Taking responsibility and ownership for the development, support, and maintenance of several existing and new integration points across Western Water systems
  • Problem solving integration and ETL anomalies, and recommending appropriate solutions within the architectural framework of the business
  • Supporting existing integrations and developing new integrations and ETLs between systems
  • Strong coding to extend existing systems, in a variety of contemporary languages
  • Data migration and ETL activities
  • Work will include development, triage, fault finding co-ordinating project work, organising activities, estimating, delivering project outcomes, estimating effort and liaising with the business and applications vendors.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT
  • Strong development and coding skills in a variety of contemporary programming languages and tools including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Oracle, VB .Net, C#, Java, HTML, CSS, ASP, Perl, Powershell, Bash, Python
  • Capacity to ensure that technology solutions continually add value whilst underpinning our IT Strategy and Architecture
  • exposure to traditional coding disciplines and a proven ability to work independently within the estimates provided

Asset Information Coordinator

  • Full time position (monthly RDO)
  • Band 7: $86,176.65pa + 9.5% superannuation

To lead a team of  Asset Information specialists Western Water is seeking a appropriately experienced person to join our Strategy & Planning team as Asset Information Coordinator. This role will play a significant role in ensuring all asset information is accurately captured, complete, up-to-date and is reliable.

As Asset Information Coordinator, it is expected you will:

  • Be able to provide expert analysis and advice on asset data management consistent with ISO55000 and IIMM, asset valuation and asset accounting standards.
  • develop asset data policies and strategies to drive compliance with standards and obligations.
  • develop specific strategies for the GIS, AMIS, Mobility systems and Asset data warehousing and reporting systems in conjunction with the IT department and relevant business units.
  • manage improvement projects, contracts and teams within the budget and timeline allocation.
  • have a focus on and drive to deliver continuous improvement and optimised processes within the Asset Integrity group.
  • To be successful in this role you will hold a solid understanding of the concepts behind data management in a relational database, and familiarity with the principles and practices of asset accounting procedures.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline – Geomatics, Engineering, Information Systems, Science or related field. Post graduate qualifications an advantage.
  • Experience managing large asset data sets including static and dynamic, spatial data, imagery and other data attributes within a physical infrastructure environment.
  • Experience in the implementation and development of contemporary asset/infrastructure data management processes and techniques
  • Demonstrated skills in supervising a team
  • Highly developed analytical skills

Project Manager, Asset Management Improvement Program

  • 6 months fixed term (possible extension)
  • 40 minutes from the CBD in Melbourne’s North West Salary
  • $76,840.84

Our Asset Integrity Team is looking for a Project Manager - Asset Management Improvement Program (AMIP) for the next 6 months with possible extension. Reporting to the Asset Planning Coordinator, this position will be responsible for the development of project plans and support the delivery of several concurrent improvement projects, ensuring the required outcomes are met.

The Asset Integrity Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Planning, delivering and implementing projects by providing project management services aligned to Western Waters project management frameworks as required
  • Building good relationships with sponsors and stakeholders for projects as required. Drive key deliverables and change management processes as required
  • Assisting the development of project scope, cost estimates, project plans, risk assessments, workshopping and project reporting
  • Co-ordinating project work, organising resources, facilitating business meetings, and delivering project financials and outcomes.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Ability to assist others to identify and resolve issues with project plans & timelines and business processes, and co-ordinate corrective action
  • Demonstrated project management skills including the ability to coordinate cross functional teams to achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to follow an auditable project management process, completing all required project artefacts, delivered within project time and budget
  • Well-developed skills in the use of office based technology in a Microsoft environment, including reporting, project management, financial management and defect tracking.

Project management qualifications and relevant certification in project management is essential for this role.
