Asset Information Officer

  • Full Time Position
  • 40 minutes from the CBD in Melbourne’s North West
  • Salary $62,935.05 plus super

Western Water is seeking an enthusiastic Asset Information Officer to join our Strategy & Planning group. This role is responsible for ownership of ‘Asset Master’ our Asset Management Information System (AMIS), the collection and verification of complete and up to date data and information on the assets, document control of related asset information, identifying data and information gaps, developing asset inspection and testing plans to provide data assurance and enabling the business to use Asset Master for data analytics and tracking trends.

Reporting directly to the Asset Information Coordinator, the role’s responsibilities include:

  • Lead acquisition, entry and analysis of infrastructure asset data (both linear and non-linear) from capital delivery teams and developers,
  • Maintain the asset register, assist with asset valuations and capitalisation,
  • Support the GIS system and implement the integration of AMIS with GIS,
  • Work closely with field staff to lead the delivery of data audits, asset condition assessment program and  manage the related data/ information,
  • Resolve technical problems and implement enhancements to asset information system applications in areas of data quality, works order automation and mobility solutions,
  • Maintain the systems/ data to ensure smooth delivery of the maintenance program and related reporting,
  • Deliver training to both technical and non-technical staff and provide specialist advice to staff.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience with specific emphasis on hands-on experience with AMIS (e.g. Asset Master, Maximo, SAP, Infor Hansen, etc.) and/ or GIS systems,
  • Significant experience in AMIS, including  Asset Data Cleansing & Migration, Maintenance Scheduling, Condition Monitoring, Asset Utilisation and reporting; in utilities sector or similar industries,
  • Extensive experience in contemporary asset/infrastructure data management systems, processes and techniques to support asset management in an engineering environment,
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service, problem solving and personal development,
  • A demonstrated ability to influence and lead others to achieve key outcomes.
