If you receive a higher than normal water bill, there’s a few things you may like to consider.
The rebate on your previous bill
Residential customers who have a water usage component on their bill receive $100 off their bill at the start of each financial year.
The following bill, issued between November and February, may seem higher because it doesn’t include the rebate.
The Government Water Rebate will continue each financial year for four years from 2014/15.
Your bill may seem higher if you’ve recently moved from metropolitan Melbourne. That’s because Western Water splits the annual service charges over three bills per years while metropolitan water retailers split the charges over four bills.
