You need Western Water's permission before you connect a new property to our water, recycled water and/or sewerage network.
If you're moving to a property that is already built, tell us you're moving.
Connecting a new property
To apply to connect to Western Water's water, recycled water and/or sewerage network, you will need to:
- Provide a site and floor plan if you are connecting to the sewerage system.

- Ensure you provide your plumber's name and their Victorian Building Authority Licence Number.
- Include all relevant documents and pay the application fees.
For all new water connections, plumbers are required to set up the meter assembly and advise Western Water when the water meter can be fitted.
