Community Consultation

Western Water's community consultation framework is designed to represent the various customer groups within our community. This structure allows for onoing interaction with our customers while additional groups are formed to consult on major projects as required.

Customer Advisory Group
Western Water's Customer Advisory Group (CAG) enables community input to our service planning and decision-making processes by providing a direct link between
our Board, customer base and consumer advocacy groups.

Meeting bi-monthly, CAG includes at least two Board Members, the Chairs of our three Community Reference Groups and representatives from key customer and advocacy groups. CAG ensures that the Board is aware of national and state consumer issues as well as local priorities,
perspectives, values and concerns. This results in better customer service and policy
development for our business.

Community Reference Groups
Western Water's three regional Community Reference Groups (CRG) covering
Melton/Bacchus Marsh, Macedon Ranges and Sunbury areas, provide local feedback on
specific regional water issues and support the Customer Advisory Group.

The CRGs provide each of the self nominated customer representatives the opportunity to become familiar with Western Water's business priorities and assist the business in identifying emerging issues and matters of local concern.

Each group elects its own chairperson, who also attends CAG meetings on the group's behalf. All groups participate in annual Strategic Planning Days, which provide input to the development of Western Water's Corporate Plan.
