Melton and surrounds

Western Water currently provides water and sewerage services to 66,000 residents in and around Melton. By 2021, this population is expected to reach more than 80,000.

Melton is one of metropolitan Melbourne’s priority growth areas. It has seen tremendous growth in the past 20 years, and this is set to continue with the Victorian Growth Area Authority extending Melbourne’s urban-growth boundary in the west.

There are a large number of projects planned or under construction in Melton and surrounding growth areas, including Brookfield, Hopetoun Park, Exford and Toolern Vale.

These projects will ensure we’re able to keep pace with the growing population, comply with all government legislation and standards, and continue to supply quality water, sewerage and recycled water services to our customers.
