Western Water’s management team comprises a skilled group of experienced professionals. Led by Managing Director John Wilkinson, the team of four includes General Managers in three areas; Commercial Services, Customer and Community Relations and Sustainability.

John Wilkinson - Managing Director

Responsible for leading and managing the organisation, John was appointed Managing Director of Western Water in June 2002.
In 1998, John received the Institute of Water Administrator’s most prestigious award, the Barry Leach Award, acknowledging his exceptional service to the Institute and to the Victorian water industry.
A qualified accountant with almost 30 years in the water industry, John prides himself of leading Western Water towards a sustainable future.
Robert Franklin - General Manager, Sustainability
B Eng Civil
A civil engineer with almost 30 years experience in the water industry, Robert is responsible for capital works, asset management, water systems and infrastructure. His experience includes planning, design, construction and maintenance of water infrastructure.

Peter Donlon - General Manager, Customer and Community Relations
B Sc Biology, A Dip. Sc Computing, MASM, AIWA
Peter has more than 30 years experience in the water industry including strategic planning, drinking water quality and public health, environmental management and industrial waste management.
Peter is responsible for delivering customer service outcomes to achieve Western Water’s vision. This includes responsibility for the customer contact centre, communications, metering, billing and account management, property services, community relations, information technology and services and business continuity. Peter was Technical Director at the Water Services Association of Australia and is currently a Board Member of the Sunbury Community Health Centre.
Les McLean - General Manager, Commercial Services
B Bus, FCPA, MAICD, AIWA
With 19 years of water industry experience, Les is responsible for finance, regulation and renewable resources: recycled water, biosolids and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
He is also accountable for the development and implementation of the Balanced Scorecard strategic management tool. Les is currently an Executive Board member of the Institute of Water Administration, a not-for-profit industry training and development organisation.
