Executive Management 

Western Water’s Executive Management Team comprises a skilled group of experienced professionals. Led by Managing Director Neil Brennan, the team of five includes General Managers in four areas; Strategy & Performance, Customer and Community Relations, Sustainable Water Solutions and Corporate Services.

Accountable to the Board, our Executive Management Team are committed to achieving our corporate and strategic objectives.

Responsible for leading and managing the organisation, Neil was appointed Managing Director of Western Water in June 2012.

Prior to his appointment Neil was the Managing Director at Central Highlands Water for 15 years and he has previously held CEO positions at Western Water and Macedon Region Water Authorities.

Neil has been employed in the Victorian Water Industry for some 32 years, and has had various Ministerial appointments to industry committees. He is currently a Director of the Board of the Electricity and Water Ombudsman Scheme Victoria (EWOV), Executive Council Member of the Institute of Water Administration (IWA) and Chair of the Victorian Water Industry, Intelligent Water Networks Steering Group.

Mr Brennan's academic achievements include a Graduate Diploma in Management, a Masters in Business Leadership and completion of the Oxford Advanced Management Programme.

B Eng Civil, GAICD

A civil engineer with more than 30 years experience in the water industry, Robert is responsible for capital works, asset management, water systems and infrastructure. His experience includes planning, design, construction and maintenance of water infrastructure.

Robert’s commitment to sustainable land management and community consultation supports our business vision.

B Sc Biology, A Dip. Sc Computing, MASM, AIWA

Peter is responsible for delivering customer service outcomes to achieve Western Water’s vision. This includes responsibility for the customer contact centre and customer support, communications, metering, billing and account management, property services, community relations, education programs, information technology, business innovation and business continuity. 

Peter has more than 30 years’ experience in the water industry covering areas including strategic planning, drinking water quality and public health, environmental management and industrial waste management. He was Technical Director of the Water Services Association of Australia.

Peter is currently a Board Member of the Sunbury Community Health Centre.

B Bus, FCPA, GAICD, FIWA

Les has over 20 years’ experience in the water industry, particularly in the areas of finance, regulation and business development.

His current responsibilities include strategic planning, business performance, risk management and renewable resources (recycled water, biosolids and greenhouse gas emissions). Les is also responsible for the development and ongoing implementation of the Balanced Scorecard, Western Water’s strategy execution tool. 

Les is an Executive Board Member, and 2012 President of the Institute of Water Administration, a not-for-profit industry training and development organisation. 

B Bus (Acc), Dip Bus LG, MAICD

David has over 25 years experience in finance, risk management, information services and corporate governance in local government, most recently as Director Corporate and Community Services at Corangamite Shire.

David is Western Water's Corporate Secretary and is accountable for its corporate and governance operations, finance, information technology, records and regulation functions.
