Western Water has one Customer Advisory Group (CAG) and three Community Reference Groups (CRG) representing key regions within our service area: Sunbury, Macedon Ranges and Melton/Bacchus Marsh.
The Customer Advisory Group provides a direct link between the Board and the community and includes Board Members, Chairs of the Community Reference Groups and representatives from key customer and advocacy groups.
The Community Reference Groups include Western Water management representatives and more than 20 self-nominated representatives of the local community. They provide local feedback on specific regional water issues and support the Customer Advisory Group.
In 2009/10, the Customer Advisory Group and Community Reference Group members met 14 times. Their input was sought on major projects and initiatives such as billing changes, the Melbourne Waterways charge communications, water conversation campaigns and water supply security. The groups also participated in the annual Strategic Planning Day to provide input to the development of Western Water's Corporate Plan.
The Customer Advisory Group and Community Reference Groups include male and female representatives from across the region, covering a range of age groups, social, economic and cultural backgrounds, and encompassing a wide range of skills and interests.
