National Water Week was first held in 1993 with the aim of helping the community to appreciate and take action to protect and conserve our precious water resources and habitats. Western Water celebrates National Water Week each year with fun and educational events and activities.
In 2011, National Water Week is 16 - 22 October.
Poster Competition
Every year, Western Water sponsors the National Water Week Poster Competition in our region.
This year's National Water Week theme is "Healthy Catchments, Healthy Communities", but posters can reflect other local water-related issues instead.
Entries in the poster competition will be judged in the following age categories, which will each have a winner and a runner-up:
- Prep
- Grade 1-2
- Grade3-4
- Grade 5-6
Any art material, including paints, textas, pencils, collage, photographs or computer graphics, can be used (but students and teachers are advised that sometimes entries drawn with crayons can get grubby or smudged!).
All posters must be A3 sized (30cm x 40cm) and each poster must have an entry form attached (see below).
Winners in each category will take home a Nintendo DSi game console (valued at $169.00) and runners-up will receive an art pack of assorted goods (valued at $100.00).
To enter, please download a copy of the entry details and entry form below and send your poster to
