Easements
Easements provide Western Water legal permission to access specified areas of land for the purpose of maintaining or installing pipes and other assets. If you have an easement on your property it will be registered on your land title.
To build a structure within one meter of a Western Water underground asset you must obtain permission from Western Water.
A structure may include:
- Sheds
- Paving
- Carports
- Fences
- Retaining walls
- Garden beds
- Trees
- Landscaping
- Deckings
- Verandas
- Tanks
- Pools
- Other structures built, placed, installed, laid or constructed.

Property Sewer Plans
Property sewer plans provide you with a record of where sewerage drains are located on your property. You may require a property sewer plan if you are:
- Purchasing a new property
- Having issues with a blocked drain
- Planning to install a swimming pool
- Extending your home
- Landscaping
Property sewer plans can be faxed or emailed to you within 30 minutes, or posted the next working day.
