Landlord

Let us know if a tenant is moving in or out of a property you own.

Tenant moving in

If a tenant is moving into a property you own, you can let us know by completing a residential tenancy advice form.

Things you should know:

  • We don't turn water off in between tenants. Water will be available when they move in.
  • Tenants are charged for the water they use. As the property owner you will continue to get a bill for service availability charges.
  • If a property shares a water meter with other properties, the landlord is charged for both water use and service charges.
  • A fee of $27.63 in 2020/21 applies for a water meter reading and associated administration when we are notified of a tenancy change. This is charged to the property owners' account.

Tenant moving out

If a tenant is moving out of a property you own, you can let us know by completing a residential tenancy advice form. You should give at least two business days notice.

Things you should know:

  • The tenant will be charged for water used until the day they move out.
  • If we aren't told of a new tenant moving in, any water used after the tenant leaves will be charged to the landlord.
