Our fully trained presenter can visit your VCAL class and provide an opportunity for students to participate practical demonstrations and experiments, group activities and discussions.
The 60 minutes hands-on and interactive presentation will help students save money every day by choosing tap water, as well as provide an understanding on water for health, general household water use and associated water bills.
Our presentation is appropriate for either slotting into an existing curriculum (e.g. literacy and numeracy with the bill reading and budgeting component) or for those conducting a unit on water.
What others are saying
"Western Water's presenter was highly engaging and the students found the content easy to understand as it was relevant to them and their current situations.
Looking at a real water bill was highly relevant to our numeracy program and gave them some ideas of how to cut their water usage and how to reduce their water bill in the future.
The students especially loved the interactive nature of the presentation and the hands on activity of ‘making a cola drink’. They were given free water bottles and it has been pleasing to see them bring them to class with water instead of the soft drinks or energy drinks they were previously consuming!
I would highly recommend the Western Water presentation to VCAL classes as it was relevant to our curriculum and engaging to have someone from the community come in and talk about real world issues". - VCAL Coordinator, Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services
