Gisborne Recycled Water Plant Upgrade (Completed)

We upgraded facilities at the Gisborne Recycled Water Plant, improving the quality of the recycled water produced onsite.

Project snapshot

Town(s): Gisborne, Macedon, New Gisborne,

Status: Complete

Cost: $1.4M

Expected Completion Date: Completed February 2018

The plant treats wastewater from Gisborne, New Gisborne and Macedon townships.

What did the works involve?

The upgrade included the installation of a filtration system and a UV disinfection system.

The filter system installed is a disk filter that passes water through rotating plastic rings.

This upgrade ensures a consistent reduction in the number of bacteria (E.coli) and protozoa in the recycled water reused by customers and discharged to Jacksons Creek.
