Newsroom/Macedon Ranges water supply changes
Due to a recent dry period, the water levels of the Rosslynne Reservoir have fallen to below 20% of capacity.
Right now, drinking water for these towns comes from both local sources and the Melbourne supply system. With local sources now decreasing:
Romsey, Lancefield and Woodend will be supplied with a blend of water from local sources and the Melbourne supply system
100% of water in Gisborne, New Gisborne, Gisborne South, Macedon, Mt Macedon and Riddells Creek will come from the Melbourne supply system.
Customers in these towns may notice a slight change to the taste of their drinking water as these changes are made.
It will continue to meet Australian Drinking Water Guidelines - all drinking water supplied by Western Water is safe and healthy to drink.
