Mr Rigby joins Western Water from Coliban Water in Bendigo, where he has been Managing Director for seven years. Prior to that role, he was Managing Director of Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water based at Horsham.
Mr Cairns said Mr Rigby would commence his appointment on 4 March 2019.

Mr Rigby is also a Board director of VicWater, the State Association for the water utility sector, and, former Board director of Water Services Association of Australia, the national peak body for the urban water sector. He is also a chartered professional engineering executive and chartered secretary.
Western Water commenced recruitment activities for its new Managing Director late last year after the resignation of Neil Brennan in August 2018.
