Western Water will make a temporary change to the water supply in Myrniong from Monday 9 September 2019.
Right now, water for Myrniong comes from Pykes Creek Reservoir and is treated at Western Water’s Water Filtration Plant.
From Monday 9 September, Southern Rural Water will be undertaking maintenance at the reservoir. Works will take up to one week to complete.
During this time, Western Water will transport drinking water from Bacchus Marsh to supply customers in Myrniong. Customers may notice a change to the taste of their drinking water, but it remains safe and healthy to drink. They may also notice an increase in truck movements while we bring water into Myrniong.
The water supply for Bacchus Marsh includes fluoride. This means there will be a short period of time where the drinking water in Myrniong will also include fluoride. For information about fluoride, visit the Department of Health website.
