Western Water will make a temporary water supply change in Lancefield over the coming days.
The water supply change is necessary while we undertake maintenance works at the Lancefield Water Filtration Plant. The water supply change is expected to last up to three days.
Further works are forecast for later this year. We will keep you informed when these works are due to be carried out.
Right now, water for Lancefield comes from a mixture of local surface water from Lancefield and water from the Melbourne supply system
During the works, it will come from the Melbourne supply system and water transported via trucks from the Woodend system.
When the change occurs, customers may notice a change to the taste of their water. They may also notice a change when works are complete and the water supply returns to its current supply.
Did you know?
- Most towns serviced by Western Water have access to multiple water supplies. This ensures we can meet demand and cater for a growing population. See where your water comes from.
From time to time, we may also need to change supply when upgrade works are being carried out, or when weather conditions increase demand.
