We use a number of water sources to ensure we can meet demand in Bacchus Marsh, even when inflows are low.
Water for towns in the Bacchus Marsh area can be sourced from:
- Merrimu Reservoir, treated at the Merrimu Water Filtration Plant, and
- the Melbourne supply system.
Myrniong’s water can be sourced from:
- Pykes Creek Reservoir, treated at the Myrniong Water Filtration Plant. This supply is not fluoridated.
- carting water from Merrimu Reservoir, treated at the Merrimu Water Filtration Plant and/or the Melbourne supply system (both these supplies are fluoridated).

Sewage from the Bacchus Marsh area is treated at the Bacchus Marsh Recycled Water Plant, in Parwan.
Bacchus Marsh Recycled Water Plant produces Class C recycled water.
The recycled water is used to irrigate local farms.
