When you sell
- Your solicitor or conveyancer should contact us to request an Information Statement and Special Meter Read. It includes any outstanding charges to be included in the settlement.
- We won't send a final bill. Instead, the account is transferred to the new property owner.
- After settlement your solicitor or conveyancer should send us a Notice of Disposition. We use the information in this document to transfer the account to the new owner.
When you buy

- We won't send a final bill to the old owner. Instead, the account and any outstanding debts not paid at settlement are transferred to you as the new property owner.
- After settlement your solicitor or conveyancer should send us a Notice of Acquisition. We use the information in this document to set up your account.
- We don't switch off water in between ownership. You only need to contact us if you would like to apply for a concession or provide an alternative mailing address.
