Navigating your new websiteWestern Water has completed construction on a $3 million sewer pipeline in Diggers Rest.
The new two-kilometre main connects Diggers Rest’s new housing estates to Western Water’s sewer network to cater for the increase in sewage flows from a growing population. The project was completed with minimal impact to nearby properties and traffic.
The sewer pipeline is one of two recent investments to our sewer network in Diggers Rest. Western Water also invested $1.5 million to upgrade the Sewer Pump Station near Tame Street, increasing pumping capacity from 37 litres per second to 70 litres per second.
Both projects are critical to ensuring that Western Water continues to meet the demand for essential water and sewer services.
Western Water invested $70 million in capital works in 2018/19 and is projected to spend $82 million in 2019/20, much of that to support development growth in our service region.
