We constructed a new sewer main to transfer sewage from the Woodlea Estate to our pump station in Rockbank.
Cost: $2.4 million
Expected Completion Date: Completed
Why was this project needed?
The new sewer main ensured we could provide sewerage services to the first 2500 lots in the Woodlea development at Aintree (formerly Rockbank North). The main transfers sewage from Woodlea to our sewer pump station in Rockbank, and then onto the Melton Recycled Water Plant for treatment.
What did the works involve?
The project involved the construction of 2.7km of 300mm, 375mm and 450mm diameter sewer mains through the Woodlea Estate. Using a boring machine, an eight metre deep tunnel was dug under the Western Freeway, connecting the sewer main to Western Water’s pump station in Rockbank.
