Romsey is a growing community located in the Macedon Ranges, 61km north of Melbourne.

We use a number of water sources to ensure we can meet local demand even when inflows are low.

Romsey’s water can be sourced from:

  • local surface water supplies in Kerrie Reservoir and Wright Reservoir. Local bore water can also be supplied. Local water is treated at the Romsey Water Filtration Plant and is not fluoridated.
  • Rosslynne Reservoir, near Gisborne, treated at Rosslynne Water filtration Plant (this supply is fluoridated)
  • the Melbourne supply system (this supply is fluoridated).

Romsey’s sewage is treated at the Romsey Recycled Water Plant to the east of town.

Recycled water

Romsey Recycled Water Plant produces Class C Recycled water.

The recycled water is used to irrigate local farms, sportsfields and recreation areas.
